We are in the process of creating a firewall that will be easy to configure but is very secure.
This balance will not be easy to acheive as the two do not usually go hand in hand.
We have only just begun. We have chosen the Linux platform for the base OS mostly because of the balance between security, stability, and device support.
We hope to accomplish the following:
1) Have all configurable parameters in the command line (think YAST or SAM style CLI) be available in the GUI.
2) NAT
3) Traffic Shaping
4) Intrusion Detection and Prevention
5) Wireless
6) MultiWAN
7) Load Balancing (Truncation)
8) VPN
9) More to come later.
We are only in very early development and do no have anything available, but please check back with us from time to time to see if we have moved forward.
